From its 16th century arcades, you have to look up to admire the Saint-Stapin statue and the Capelette chapel. Many other unusual trails crisscross the sides of the Black Mountain. Go and visit the Tourist Office to discover them. Dourgne offers a contemplative stopover but also a 100% nature break with picnics at the  place called “the Baylou” or near the natural water basins called "Les bassins".


Hiking to the Capelette

 

Become a watcher of the plains and immerse yourself in this mystical place where tales and legends reign! It is said that Giants, turned into Saints, are the guardians of the Capelette. Up there you will discover the chapel of Saint-Ferréol which offers breathtaking views. It was rebuilt around 1947 by the monks of the Abbey of En Calcat It is closed to the public.

En Calcat Abbey

 

Rejuvenate yourself by going to discover the small offices held by the monks of the Abbey and enjoy this peaceful place while admiring its architecture. Unearth the flagship products of the store and discover the countless number of books in the bookstore. Dom Robert (1907 – 1997), a former resident monk and artist, made many works of art representing the surrounding nature, his tapestries testify to the richness of its flora and fauna.
